Criteria Defining Moral Changes
1. The action you are leading them into changing must be done freely.
2. The new action or behavior must be energized by a real moral motivation not by fear or desire to please.
3. The action itself must be a moral act using safe criteria.
As We Make a Free Choice to Change these safe criteria must be followed:
1. Study Rom 14:5; 14, 23 says we must be personally persuaded fully that this new behavior is in fact a moral action.
2. Study Rom 14:6-8 as we consider this new behavior we want to implement or allow can we safely say "I can do this unto the Lord?'
3. Will my new behavior I am adding to my lifestyle in any way be a "stumbling - block" to others Rom 14:13, 15, 20-21.
4. As I begin to practice this new area in my life am I experiencing true inner peace that is not just a dangerous warm fuzzy Rom 14:17-18?
5. Will this new practice as I work it out in public "edify" my brother Rom 14:19?
6. As I personally evaluate this new area of behavior will it in fact be "profitable" 1 Cor 6:12?
7. As I study all the aspects historically or socially is there any possibility my new behavior will "enslave" me 1 Cor 6:12?
8 In the end as I study the way my newly explored behavior will it "glorify" God 1 Cor 10:31?
